Join us for Redlands Patron Saints Day, Friday March 17, 2017 at 3 pm in the Assembly Room of A.K. Smiley Public Library.
March 17 is the birthday of twin brothers Alfred H. and Albert K. Smiley. Since 1908, the Smiley Brothers are celebrated every year on their birthday, March 17, Redlands Patron Saints Day.
This year, historians Larry Burgess and Nathan Gonzales will share a new program about how the Smileys saw and promoted Redlands. Exciting this year is the inclusions of dozens of “magic lantern slides” of Redlands that the Smiley family showed to guests at Mohonk Lake, the family’s successful resort near New Paltz, New York.
The community is invited to A.K. Smiley Public Library at 125 W. Vine St. every March 17 for the celebration, which is free to all who wish to attend.
