A.K. Smiley Public Library Special Author Program to be held Monday, January 29.
Come hear writer Bert Block share both the painful and uplifting experiences of his family during World War II, as detailed in the book Escape From Russia: A Flight From Death, co-written by H.P Isaak.
Through translations of Henry P. Isaak’s writings in the original German, Escape From Russia details the experiences of one family who was miraculously saved from the gulags of Russia and the brutal Red Army during the tumult of the Second World War.
Through faith and resilience, Henry P. Isaak’s family of Russian Mennonites struggled and persevered, ultimately surviving the ravages of war and settling in Redlands to begin a new life.
Anyone interested in history and triumph over adversity is invited to join us for this inspirational discussion. This is a free program and open to the public.
