Description: Spencerian script was developed by Platts Roger Spencer, in the late 1800s, as a faster, legible style for business writing. While this script was often written with a dipped, pointed pen, it’s also attractive using today’s everyday writing instruments. This comes in handy when our normal scribble just won’t do.
About Presenter: Instructor Kristi Darwick is a graduate of the University of Redlands. Kristi teaches calligraphy for UC Riverside and leads programs and workshops in California and beyond. As President of the California Society for Calligraphy, Kristi shares this passion through events for guild members and for the public. This past fall, she led eighteen artists on a study tour in Amsterdam and Bruges.
