Presentation to Focus on Redlands’s WWI Veterans on November 10th
A.K. Smiley Public Library’s WWI lecture series concludes with “Over There,” a program on November 10 at 11am in the Library’s Assembly Room. Presented by Library Director Don McCue, “Over There” will discuss of the experiences of Redlands men who went overseas to fight during World War I.
From Cantigny and Belleau Wood to Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse Argonne, Redlanders participated in all of America’s great 1918 battles and 40 would make the ultimate sacrifice. The presentation will take place just one day shy of the hundredth anniversary of the end of “The War to End All Wars” and will bring an end to the Library’s lecture series about the war’s Centennial that began in April 2017.
The program is free and open to the public. Registration is requested, but not required. A.K. Smiley Public Library is located at 125 W. Vine Street in Redlands. For more information, please call the Heritage Room at (909) 798-7632 or visit www.akspl.org.
