Special Veteran’s Day Presentation
Wednesday, November 11, 2026
6:30pm in The Assembly Room
In observation of Veterans Day, military historian Mark Radeleff will deliver a PowerPoint presentation about Redlands World War II veterans who were killed in action during the war . Mr. Radeleff will focus on veterans such as David Hodges, who was killed aboard the battleship USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor, and brothers Phil and Paul Dotson. Phill was killed during the Battle of the Hurtgen Forest, while Paul lost his life as a result of the sinking of the Japanese POW Hellship Shinyo Maru. All paid what Pres. Abraham Lincoln called “the last full measure of devotion.” A Vietnam veteran himself, Mark’s presentations combine incredible research skills with compelling visuals and illustrations. The presentation will take place at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, November 11 in the Assembly Room at A.K. Smiley Public Library in Redlands. The library is located at 125 W. Vine St. Admission is free.
