2022 is a year of celebrations at A.K. Smiley Public Library! In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Heritage Room and the 90th anniversary of the Lincoln Memorial Shrine, Smiley Library is offering two new film series: Redlands in Film and Lincoln in Film.
Redlands in Film will highlight movies filmed in or related to the city itself! Iconic locales such as Kimberly Crest, the Morey Mansion, and University of Redlands have served as the backdrop for such varied productions as film noir and slasher films, as well as dramas and black comedies. The series will run on alternating months March through December.
Lincoln in Film will feature movies depicting Abraham Lincoln’s life. One of the most celebrated figures in American history, Lincoln has been portrayed by such notable actors as Walter Huston, Henry Fonda, and Daniel Day Lewis in films directed by some of the most acclaimed directors in cinematic history.
