Susan Bangasser has been a scuba diver for over 50 years and began taking underwater photos in the 1970’s, the era of film and flash bulbs. She was a SCUBA instructor for 35 years and has dived in many global locations. With a science background, she developed an interest in photography to both document and share the underwater environment with family and friends. Her contributions to scuba diving, especially her writings focused on women in the sport, secured her a spot in the inaugural class of the Women Divers Hall of Fame. Her career encompassed roles as a chemistry professor at San Bernardino Valley College and later as the Dean of Science. Although she is now retired, she remains passionate about photography, capturing images both in the ocean and on land.
