OverDrive’s Southern California Digital Library is a consortium of local
libraries that have pooled their resources to share their digital book collections.
Registered borrowers of A.K. Smiley Public Library can now use their library card to
download any eBooks or eAudiobook available from SCDL to their
home computer in pdf or mp3 format.
Digital books are available 24/7 and have a 7 or 14 day loan period.
In March of 1897, Albert K. Smiley purchased sixteen acres of downtown land to build Redlands its new library building. The A.K. SMILEY PUBLIC LIBRARY and surrounding Smiley Park, so named by a grateful city council in honor of the donor, was dedicated on April 29, 1898.
