Have you heard about A.K. Smiley Public Library’s Southern California in Film series? Launched in 2019, this series honors the region’s rich cinematic legacy by showcasing films that capture Southern California’s stunning landscapes and layered history. The 2025 lineup features a mix of timeless comedies and iconic films from Hollywood’s Golden Age to more recent decades—each one a story that could only unfold in SoCal.

No admission is charged for screenings, thanks to the generous contributions of donors to Smiley Library. Screenings are free and open to the public. Films will be screened at 2pm in the Contemporary Club. Not all films are suitable for all audiences.
