eBooks & eAudiobooks


Smiley library has joined OverDrive's Southern California Digital Library. Beginning May 1, 2010, patrons may use their library cards to download eBooks or eAudiobooks to their home computers in pdf or mp3 format.

Digital books may be downloaded 24/7 and are available for 7 or 14 day loan periods.

Please note: users will require access to a personal computer with administrative privileges to download and install OverDrive's digital book viewing software.

This subscription is provided by a gift from the Friends of the Library.

 

Library Budget Cuts

Notice:  During the current fiscal emergency the City of Redlands is no longer able to provide funding for books,  magazines and audiovisual.  New materials will be acquired solely with funds provided by the Library’s Endowment, the Friends of A. K. Smiley Public Library, and other private gifts.

A. K. Smiley Library, through the Friends of the Library, is the proud sponsor of three book clubs.  With the assistance of volunteer leaders, each group chooses books of interest to the group to read and discuss at monthly meetings.

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine

Shrine

 

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is the only museum and archives dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War west of the Mississippi River. Its extensive collection of manuscripts, diaries, images and artifacts is maintained by the Special Collections Division of Smiley Library.
